Compounding is used when you need to fix any flaws your car may have by basically leveling the uneven paint surface, almost acting as sandpaper. These can be issues such as scratches, 1,000 grit sanding marks, oxidation and swirls. If you look closely at your surface, your car, unless compounded recently, is almost guaranteed to have one of these defects. DP Compound works to removes these moderate to severe paint shortcomings either by hand or by machine.
Once a car has been compounded with DP Compound, the car’s surface will be restored to the original paint clarity. Not only will the paint look as good as new, but it will also feel that way. After polishing with DP Polish, the surface will be smooth and shiny without any contaminants in site.
Unlike some products, DP Compound is body shop safe, formulated without the use of any silicones or fillers. This means there aren’t any hidden chemicals in DP Compound that would interfere with the process of painting a car, problems such as causing fisheyes, adhesion issues or any other unwanted side effects.
DIRECTIONS:
*When using machine*
1. Apply several dime-sized drops of product onto a clean cutting pad.
2. With the machine still off, spread the product over the panel to be compounded.
3. Turn the machine on.
4. Begin to work the compound into the surface using a moderate pressure in a cross hatch pattern until a slight haze is formed.
5. Wipe away excess using a clean microfiber towel.
6. Continue around vehicle.
*When using hand*
1. Apply a nickel-sized amount of product onto a dense hand polishing pad.
2. Work pad into surface in 2 x 2 square foot area in a cross hatch pattern.
3. Work product until it turns clear.
4. Wipe away excess with a clean microfiber towel.
5. Continue around vehicle.
