Description
A three-part system for clean, clear headlight lenses!
Cloudy, scratched headlight lens covers are a safety hazard as well as a blemish on your vehicle. This condition occurs because the plastic is overexposed to UV light. The cloudiness starts at the exterior surface of the lens cover and spreads inward. If caught quickly, this damage can be removed by simply polishing the plastic until it is clear again.
Wolfgang™ has developed a three-part system that cleans and clarifies plastic lens covers. By removing the cloudiness from the lens, more light is able to pass through the lens cover to better illuminate the road ahead. You can see the road and other drivers can see you.
The system consists of:
4 oz. Plastik Lens Cleaner
Wolfgang™ Plastik Lens Cleaner is a clarifying polish that removes scratches and haze from clear plastic. Abrasives smooth rough spots and even out the edges of scratches to restore the uniform appearance of the plastic. By cleaning out dirt and debris and removing the outermost layer of damaged plastic, Wolfgang™ Plastik Lens Cleaner restores the clarity of the plastic to like-new condition.
4 oz. Plastik Lens Glaze
After polishing your lens covers with Plastik Lens Cleaner, use Wolfgang Plastik Lens Glaze to refine the surface. The glaze has mild cleaning properties to make the surface smooth and slick again.
8 oz. Plastik Surface Sealant
Wolfgang™ Plastik Surface Sealant forms a clear barrier over your plastic lenses to shield them from contamination and UV rays. The sealant is formulated to seal clear plastic without streaking or yellowing. It dries crystal clear so your headlights look and perform better. Rather than lighting the road ahead with a dull, filtered glow, you’ll see bright beams of light shining on everything in your path. It’s much safer and your vehicle will look great with a clean set of lenses. By blocking out UV rays, this sealant prevents the clouding that occurs on older lenses. Wolfgang™ Plastik Surface Sealant is just one more way to maintain your vehicle’s youthful appearance!
1 Orange Low Profile 4” Pad
This light cutting pad will remove scratches, clouding, and yellowing from your plastic lens covers. Use the orange pad with the Plastik Lens Cleaner to correct the lens surface. Hook & loop backing secures the pad to the included backing plate while you polish. The slim profile allows you to concentrate more pressure on problem areas.
1 Black Low Profile 4” Pad
Use the black pad with the Plastik Lens Glaze to refine the lens surface after polishing. The black pad has no cut and will allow the glaze to gently clean and smooth the plastic surface without abrading it. This pad also features hook & loop backing.
1 2 7/8” backing plate
The backing plate has a 5/8 inch thread and is made to be used on a circular polisher. The included drill adapter allows you to attach the backing plate to your electric drill. The backing plate features hook & loop backing to securely hold the pads in place while you polish.
1 drill adapter
This adapter fits any standard electric drill. The threaded end screws into the included backing plate while the non-threaded end fits into your drill. (A dual action adapter is sold separately at the bottom of this page.)
1 Microfiber Towel
Use the microfiber towel to buff away residue left by the Plastik Lens Cleaner or the Plastik Lens Glaze. It will reveal a smooth, clear shine!
Complete InstructionsWe used the Wolfgang Plastik Lens Cleaning Kit to restore the headlights on this 2002 Mercedes with significant yellowing and cloudiness. The only extra supplies we used were the 3M Performance Masking Tape and the drill. Everything else is supplied by the Wolfgang Plastik Lens Cleaning Kit.

Preparation Clean loose debris and dirt from the lenses. Tape off the paint around the lenses using green detailer tape. This tape is easier to remove than masking tape and has no adverse effects on the clear coat. |
| |
Step 1 - Wolfgang Plastik Lens Cleaner Pour a circle of Wolfgang™ Plastik Lens Cleaner onto an orange Low Profile Pad. The cut of this pad will help break down the abrasives in the polish as it removes the haze. Press the pad to the lens cover. If you are using a cordless drill, polish at the highest speed. Use the lowest speed on an electric drill. If you are using an orbital polisher, set the speed between 1200 and 1500 RPM. Go over the lens several times in different directions until the polish starts to dry. Use a microfiber towel to buff away the residue. If the lens is still cloudy, repeat this step. |
| |
Step 2 - Wolfgang Plastik Lens Glaze Switch the pad to a black pad. Pour a circle of Wolfgang™ Plastik Lens Glaze onto the pad. Press it to the lens cover and turn the machine on at the speeds listed above. Work in different directions until the glaze starts to dry. Buff off the residue with a microfiber towel.

| |
Step 3 - Wolfgang Plastik Surface Sealant As a final step, use Wolfgang™ Plastik Surface Sealant to seal and protect your lenses. Use it on plastic windows and motorcycle windshields, too.
